Lance L. Goetz, M.D.
Lance L. Goetz, MD, is staff physician at the McGuire VA Spinal Cord Injury Center and Associate Professor, Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Virginia Commonwealth University (pending).
He was a staff physician at the Dallas VA SCI Center and Associate Professor, Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, University of Texas-Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas from 1997-2010. He was program director of spinal cord injury medicine fellowship programs from 2003-2010.
Dr. Goetz received his B.S. and MD from the University of Iowa. He completed his residency training in physical medicine and rehabilitation at the University of Michigan in 1996 and spinal cord injury medicine fellowship at VA Puget Sound Health Care System, Seattle, Washington in 1997.
Dr. Goetz was named to the Best Doctors in America, 2005-2006 database. He served on the Dallas VA Medical Center Investigative Review Board (IRB), Human Studies Subcommittee from 2003-2010. Dr. Goetz has served as Principal and Co-Principal Investigator on VA Merit Review Grants involving neurophysiologic responses during robotic-driven gait, and vocational rehabilitation, respectively. He has served as site investigator for research protocols studying erectile dysfunction, clinical practice guidelines, pressure ulcers, urinary tract infections and other medical complications related to spinal cord dysfunction.
Dr. Goetz has served as a reviewer for several spinal cord injury and physical medicine and rehabilitation journals and has authored many chapters and peer-reviewed publications.
